Naomi Judd allegedly contemplated taking her own life for years before she finally did the deed on April 30.
A source told National Enquirer that Judd was already dealing with her depression and other mental health issues for quite some time. But her biggest worry was for her grandson, Elijah to see her lifeless at home.
The singer’s grandson reportedly works at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office so Judd knew that Elijah would be called to the scene if something happened to his grandmother.
The source alleged that Judd told her close friends about her desire to end her life and why it took her so long to make the final decision.
“The only reason why I haven’t shot myself is because of my grandson. I don’t want Elijah to find me that way,” Judd allegedly said.
The tabloid’s source claimed that Judd was very protective of her grandson up until the end of her life.
“Naomi knew if she killed herself at home, the sheriff’s department would be called. The department isn’t very large so it’s entirely possible that Elijah would have been called to the scene. And that’s the last thing Naomi wanted,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there was no proof that Judd has been thinking about taking her own life for years before she finally shot herself at home.
And there’s also no proof that she wanted to protect her grandson from what she was planning to do. After all, this doesn’t make sense because Elijah would’ve also been notified regardless of when Judd took her life.
Meanwhile, the singer also made headlines recently amid reports that her daughter, Wynonna is challenging the authenticity of her last will and testament.
According to Radar Online, it’s possible that the signature on the document wasn’t written by Judd herself. Instead, it was just traced by someone using a thin piece of paper.
The publication spoke with a handwriting expert who said that an investigation may be launched to determine whether Judd really left her $25 million estate with her husband, Larry Strickland.
However, there are also claims that Wynonna is trying to launch an investigation into her mom’s last will and testament because she’s not mentioned but she needs the money.
