Mark Harmon departed from NCIS last season after months of making limited appearances on the program in the previous episodes. Now, there are rumors that the actor realized how boring staying at home is so he wants to reprise his character.
In its Aug. 15 issue, Globe claimed that Harmon also realized what a great loss it was to not be able to play the role of the leader on the show. Not to mention, he’s always bored at home.
“Mark has to work hard to find things to do at home. So, he’s been talking to friends that returning might be a good idea and they’re pumped Mark is thinking about it,” the source said.
The source said that Harmon also wants to put a huge on-set issue behind him. In 2018, Pauley Perrette suddenly departed from NCIS amid fears that she would be bitten by Harmon’s dog.
After all, the pooch bit one crew member while they were working on the set.
“Mark feels bad about how it went down. The only problem is bosses are less keen on Pauley. She did leave on a bad note,” the source said.
This isn’t the first time that Harmon made headlines following his departure from NCIS. But last season, multiple tabloids claims that the actor was so thrilled that he no longer has to return to set. After all, he’s been on the show since its inception.
Other sources also alleged that Harmon is excited to just laze around at home and do some handy work because these are things that he wasn’t able to do as an actor.
And in October 2021, OK! Magazine insisted that Harmon will never return to NCIS to reprise his role as Gibbs. After all, the actor felt that he was already able to leave the franchise and wants to keep things the way they were.
“He’s been itching to get back to their Montana ranch, where he can tend to his horses, tinker around the house, and hang out in the garage and work on his cars,” the source said.
As of late, there’s no proof that Harmon is even interested to return to NCIS. If he is and if there are plans to bring Gibbs back to the show then more reputable sources would’ve already reported on it.
