Queen Elizabeth is allegedly urging Prince William and Kate Middleton to have a tight budget and to stick to it.
Just weeks ago, the annual Sovereign Grant report was released and it showed that the royal family’s spending increased between 2021 and 2022.
Of course, there are a lot of things to consider with the increase. For instance, the royal family’s trips also increased throughout the past couple of months compared to 2020 when there were still travel restrictions in place.
But regardless of the reasons why there was an increase in the royal family spending, the queen is still doing her part by making sure that everything will be regulated from here on out.
And since she doesn’t support Prince William’s trips on his private jet with his son, Prince George, this is one of the things that the monarch wants to cut back on.
“The queen summoned William and Kate to Windsor Castle for an urgent meeting. She demanded they curb their spending and even asked one of the secretaries to put together a budget spreadsheet, which the queen’s instructed they stick to,” the source told Life & Style.
The source also claimed that Prince William and Middleton’s plans to relocate to Windsor would still push through. However, the couple’s plans to have the property redecorated might have to be put on hold.
“The queen has banned them from hiring an expensive interior designer. She wants to teach them a lesson – that money doesn’t grow on trees,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s no indication that the queen put Prince William and Middleton on a budget following the release of the annual report.
It is also important to note that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t the ones that spent the most money on their trips and other expenses throughout the past year. Instead, it was Prince Charles.
Meanwhile, there’s still no confirmation regarding Prince William and Middleton’s rumored move to Windsor Castle. But multiple sources are insisting that the couple wants to love closer to the queen especially since she’s not getting any younger.
And the queen doesn’t also have a family companion in Windsor following the death of her husband, Prince Philip over a year ago.
