Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are once again sparking rumors that they could be headed for a divorce.

In its Aug. 1 issue, New Idea claimed that the couple looked as distant as ever during their recent trip to Cannes.

“It was so unlike them. They usually turn up hand in hand at everything, whether it’s a red carpet, a wedding, or a gas station. They are so tactile, which made it even more obvious that they were avoiding each other. It was like they’d interrupted mid-argument with a wedding,” the source said.

The source claimed that Douglas is struggling to make her marriage to Zeta-Jones work because he’s preoccupied with a lot of things. After all, the veteran actor has a lot of projects in the pipeline.

“It’s a lot for a man who’s battled all kinds of health issues, including tongue cancer. Catherine’s not only worried about him, but she’s the only one who can get to him. She’s desperate for him to slow down and quit the jet-setting lifestyle, especially given the pandemic is showing no signs of slowing, but he just won’t stop,” the source said.

The source then stressed that the couple is the real deal because there’s no denying the fact that Douglas and Zeta-Jones love each other very much. However, the love that they feel for each other is exactly how much they hate each other too.

It’s unclear what the tabloid meant by this because it just didn’t make sense. And even though this isn’t the first time that Douglas and Zeta-Jones were rumored to be having problems in their relationship, there’s no proof that the claims are true.

It is also important to note that the A-listers have been married for 12 years. This means that the couple has been through so many ups and downs with each other.

And the fact that they are still together despite all the rumors and speculations plaguing their relationship proves that Douglas and his wife are committed to each other.

In fact, Douglas has not shied away from professing his love for Zeta-Jones even on social media. Earlier this year, the actor made headlines after he told his wife how much he loves her in the comment section of one of her social media posts.
