Elon Musk reportedly welcomed twins last year with a top executive at one of his other companies, Neuralink.
Business Insider was the first to report the matter Wednesday after obtaining court documents pertaining to the children’s legal name change. As explained, the filing was for the incorporation of the Tesla founder’s last name and the mother’s as part of the middle names.
The outlet named Shivon Zilis mother of the twins. She is said to be working for Musk at Neuralink, a company that aims to develop an implantable computer chip for the human brain, as a top executive.
The documents obtained by the publication also reportedly noted that the two personalities welcomed the children in November 2021, about a month before Grimes gave birth to her and the tech mogul’s second child.
Following the report, CNN Business tried to confirm the contents of the court documents but “could not independently” do so. It, nevertheless, obtained a Travis County, Texas court docket, indicating that the name change petition was filed in April 2022 and granted earlier in May.
The reputed publication consequently pointed out that the dates match the ones on the documents obtained by Business Insider. Moreover, it revealed that the said legal papers contain the court’s stamp, alongside the signature of Elon Musk, listing him as the father while Shivon Zilis as the mother.
When asked for a comment, though, the world’s richest person and his representatives at Neuralink, Tesla, and SpaceX did not reportedly immediately respond to the requests.
Including the reported twins, Elon Musk is now believed to be a father to nine children. He shares five children with his former wife, Justin Wilson, and two more kids with Grimes.
The Sun said that the 51-year-old billionaire business magnate previously revealed his desire to have more children in an effort to help sustain civilization. It quoted him, saying, “There are not enough people, I can’t emphasize this enough.”
Musk reportedly continued, “If people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble. Mark my words.”
The outlet also recalled when he responded to a netizen’s praise, complimenting him for his large family. He is said to have claimed, “I’m trying to set a good example.”
Reports have shared that Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis met through her work with OpenAI, which is a nonprofit that he co-founded in 2015.
The 36-year-old personality, who is said to be a Canadian, joined Tesla two years later before moving to Neuralink.
Zilis now reportedly serves as the company’s Director of Operations and Special Projects.
