Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have allegedly given up hope when it comes to having their biological child.
In its July 11 issue, Us Weekly claimed that Shelton and Stefani recently agreed that they would no longer try to have a baby following several failed rounds of IVF.
A source claimed that the couple struggled to come up with the decision. But they eventually realized that the pressure and stress are not worth it.
“They’ve given up on their dream of having a baby. Stefani’s three sons are more than enough for them. Blake’s family hoped he’d have his own children, and Stefani felt that pressure over the years,” the source said.
The source added that Stefani previously believed that Shelton would regret their decision of not having a baby anymore. But the couple has also come to terms with Shelton’s role as a stepfather to his wife’s kids.
“Gwen and Blake are very much in love. They’re spending the majority of the summer at the ranch in Oklahoma and looking forward to returning to The Voice together this fall,” the source said.
Meanwhile, rumors about Shelton and Stefani’s alleged baby plans have been rife for years. In September of last year, Us Weekly claimed that the couple was still searching for a surrogate who could carry their child.
Unfortunately, this proved to be a struggle for the couple because of COVID-19.
“There are roadblocks because of Covid. It’s been difficult to find a surrogate during the pandemic, but they have not given up. Gwen really wants to give Blake a biological child because he is so fantastic with her kids,” the source said.
Prior to this, there were also rumors that Shelton miraculously got Stefani pregnant. And this is allegedly the reason why The Voice coach decided to propose to the No Doubt singer.
However, this rumor circulated shortly after the couple got engaged, and it was unlikely to be true. After all, Stefani is already in her 50s so she could no longer conceive her own child.
As for the couple giving up hope to have their own biological kid, no one knows for sure if this is accurate either. After all, Shelton and Stefani rarely talk about their alleged baby-making plans during their interviews.
For now, the couple seems busy tending to Stefani’s three sons.
