Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter turned one in June. To mark the special occasion, they had a private bash at Frogmore Cottage and reportedly invited the rest of the British Royal Family.
A source claimed, however, that the members of the family were a bit reluctant to “admit to having any involvement” in the birthday party.
Express UK said that royal expert Camila Tominey was the one who cited the informant, alongside the allegation.
Writing in the Telegraph, the commentator noted that “only the Tindalls’ and Phillips’ children attended” the bash despite the wider family receiving an invitation from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She also said that the parents of the young royals spent the afternoon at the Epsom Derby.
No other details were given regarding the matter.
The source did not provide any proof, as well, to prove the legitimacy of the claim. Moreover, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have maintained their silence about the celebration.
The publication also later shared that a spokesperson for the former working royals did not name the family members who attended the private event last June 4.
Meanwhile, Page Six learned that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave Prince William and Kate Middleton an invitation to their youngest child’s birthday bash. As claimed, the pair extended an “olive branch” to the senior royals, but they were not able to attend.
The publication explained that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in Wales that day. They were taking part in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in an official capacity, alongside two of their three children.
A UK-based royal insider reportedly claimed, nevertheless, that “things are still fraught” between the two couples. It was added that Prince William remains “wary of spending any time alone” with Prince Harry “as [one] never quite knows what may be reported back afterwards.”
There is very little information on how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry planned and executed the birthday bash for their youngest child. But, The Sun reported that the private event was an “informal garden party” that had “picnic-style snacks, a birthday cake, balloons, and party games.”
Sources also told the outlet that the event was “lovely,” adding that it “had everything [one] would expect from a child’s birthday party.” Moreover, there was reportedly “no formal entertainment” as the idea was for it to be “very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished.”
