Olivia O’Brien recently made a shocking revelation about her past relationship. While she admitted to dating Pete Davidson in 2020, he denied the claims and deemed them untrue.
Speaking to E! News, a rep for the “Saturday Night Live” alum attested that “there is no truth” to the 22-year-old singer’s assertions. It is also noted that the two personalities “were friends and hung out one time.”
Following the official statement from Davidson’s camp, though, no word has yet to emerge from O’Brien.
Mail Online said the whole narrative began when the “Call Mom” artist revealed her supposed romantic ties with the 28-year-old comedian on a podcast interview on Wednesday. She was even reported to be taken by surprise when she was asked about the matter.
Reports noted that Dave Portnoy, who is one of the hosts of the “BFFs” podcast, began the conversations about Pete Davidson and Olivia O’Brien. He asked the singer “what was going on” between them and even read an old “blind item” from a celebrity gossip site.
The “I Hate U, I Love U” artist initially asked, “where did you hear that” and “how did you hear that,” before the host pointed out the blind item.
O’Brien reportedly consequently revealed that she and the “Set It Up” actor had dated in October 2020. However, she is said to have insisted that she did not think “anyone knew about” the supposed relationship.
The 22-year-old artist did not dwell on the details of what happened between her and Pete Davidson. But, she did say that he ended things with her over a text.
Us Weekly released a report on the matter and quoted Olivia O’Brien, saying, “He texted me and was like, ‘I’m seeing someone else. So, like, I can’t.’”
The singer reportedly received the alleged text message in late 2020, months before witnesses had spotted the comedian with Phoebe Dynevor.
Despite allegedly ending things between them via text, the “Caught Up” performer claimed she and Davidson were on good terms. She stated that “he is hot and he is really funny,” adding that “he is a really sweet guy.”
O’Brien also reportedly slammed the notion that the “King of Staten Island” star is “not appealing,” even noting it as “annoying.”
Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor first sparked dating speculations in March 2021. It all came after they were seen together multiple times in various locations.
Elle said that several sources appeared to have confirmed the relationship between the two celebrities in the months that followed. But, it was only in July 2021 that the then-pair debuted their romance to the public.
A month later, though, insiders claimed that Dynevor and Davidson quietly ended their romantic ties.
