Meghan Markle is once again sparking speculation that she could run for president in the future.
During a recent interview with Vogue, the Duchess of Sussex reacted to the controversial overturning of Roe v Wade’s ruling. She said that the Supreme Court’s decision is a blueprint for reversing rights.
After hearing Markle’s comments, British commentator Lorraine Kelly said that the Duchess of Sussex may have found her footing in the controversial topic.
“This is where she really like I said, comes into her own. And it raises that whole speculation of whether she’s not going to go into politics,” she said (via Express).
Russell Myers echoed Kelly’s statement by saying that it wouldn’t be a surprise if Markle runs for office. After all, she and Prince Harry are now in the United States and they have also become financially independent from the royal family.
This week, a source also confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex no longer have financial ties to the British clan. After all, they have already fully paid the money that they used to owe Prince Harry’s family.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Markle was rumored to be running for office in the 2024 elections. In fact, prior to last year’s election, there were also claims that she wanted to go head-to-head with Donald Trump.
At one point, tabloids also insisted that the Duchess of Sussex would be running against Kanye West. But only the rapper filed his candidacy over a year ago.
In May, even the ex-POTUS weighed in on the possibility that Markle would run for president. Trump lashed out at the Sussexes for allegedly attempting to get as much publicity as they could.
A source told National Enquirer that the ex-president doesn’t support what the couple is doing. And he also condemns them for disrespecting Queen Elizabeth.
“Trump appears to be a little put off by the publicity Harry and Meghan are generating amid all the drama of their bitter split from the royal family. People around him are convinced the hoopla is a well-orchestrated ploy by Meghan to fuel her drive to become America’s first female president,” the source said.
However, it is important to note that all these things being mentioned about Markle allegedly running for president are just based on speculations. She has not announced her presidential bid.
