Meghan Markle confirmed what happened between her and Kate Middleton over the “crying row.” But, when the latter extended an olive branch to make peace, the former allegedly “misunderstood” it for an apology.
Express UK reported that the assertions were from a source, who claimed to be a friend of Prince William. As noted, the former actress thought her sister-in-law was apologizing when she sent her flowers.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the unnamed insider explained that, while the flowers were indeed an olive branch, it “never occurred [to the Duchess of Sussex] that they were a peace offering, not an apology.” It was also noted that “despite much provocation, both [the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge] have tried to keep the peace more than anyone will ever realize.”
Meghan Markle herself shared her thoughts about the flowers Kate Middleton had brought her during the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The Mirror UK released a report on the matter, sharing the details of her statements.
The former working royal told the celebrity host earlier in 2021 that it was the Duchess of Cambridge who made her cry and not the “reverse.” She recalled that “it was a really hard week of the wedding,” adding that her sister-in-law “was upset about something,” although “she owned it.”
The Duchess of Sussex continued that the future Queen Consort “apologized,” saying, “she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing.” She later stated that the working royal “did what [she] would do” if she knew she hurt someone, taking accountability for it.
Meanwhile, “Finding Freedom” authors had a different set of claims about Kate Middleton’s flowers for Meghan Markle, according to Cafe Mom.
The publication quoted the royal experts’ written claims, saying, “Flowers for [the Duchess of Sussex’s] birthday were nice, but [she] would far rather have had [the Duchess of Cambridge] check in on her during the most difficult times.”
To date, it remains unknown how things are between the two Duchesses, alongside their respective royal-born spouses. But, recent reports said that the former working royals extended an olive branch to the future King and Queen Consort during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Page Six learned that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry invited Kate Middleton and Prince William to their daughter’s first birthday. It was claimed that the Sussexes asked the Cambridges to join them at Frogmore Cottage to mark the special day.
However, the senior working royals were not able to attend the private event due to their official engagements in Wales. They were also with two of their children during the trip as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
