Prince Harry reportedly needs to make a tough decision and pick a side.
According to royal author Katie Nicholl, the Platinum Jubilee was proof that Prince Harry was ready to make amends with the royal family.
While speaking with Closer UK, the royal author said that things seemed unfortunate for the Duke of Sussex because the British clan didn’t feel the same way about him and Meghan Markle.
“I’m told Harry does want to sort things out with his family. The problem is, he says that and then makes scathing comments about them in interviews. The message from the family is clear: ‘If you want reconciliation then you need to keep your mouth closed.’ He is trapped between needing to make money in Hollywood and reconciling with his family,” Nicholl said.
The royal author also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to leave the Platinum Jubilee celebrations early was quite telling. After all, this indicated that they weren’t able to monetize their deal with Netflix.
Prior to the event, there were rumors that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be attending because they wanted to film footage for an upcoming Netflix documentary. As a result, the royal family reportedly instructed the officials to make sure that no cameramen would be able to enter the premises.
Sources claimed that Prince Harry and Markle were disappointed because they thought they could make money during the outing.
However, it’s important to note that there’s no proof that Prince Harry and Markle wanted to sneak in their cameramen to film footage from the Platinum Jubilee. After all, the royal couple knows that the event is all about Queen Elizabeth.
Meanwhile, sources also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle didn’t also get good vibes with Prince Charles during their visit to Britain.
According to Royally Us host Christine Ross, there are reports that Prince Harry and Markle were spotted leaving Prince Charles’ home. But royal commentator Christopher Anderson said that the couple’s goal to mend fences during their meeting with Prince Charles didn’t happen.
“Well, I understand that it was a perfunctory meeting and that there was no real breakthrough. And I have a feeling that Prince Harry definitely went there hoping for some sort of rapprochement. But there were no touchy-feely vibes coming back in his direction. So, I think the curtain has come down,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).
