Amber Heard is getting a bad rep following a series of inconsistencies in her statements during her defamation trial against Johnny Depp.
In its June 6 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Heard tried to paint herself as the victim when in fact she’s the villain in her ongoing defamation lawsuit.
“Amber has painted herself as a victim, but inconsistencies in her testimony and some of her other actions have turned the tide on public opinion against her and made her a villain,” the source said.
The source also claimed that Heard’s decision to hire sex offender David Shane has not helped improve her reputation.
“This is not the kind of guy you want representing you while you’re making your own sexual and physical abuse allegations. That certainly smelled of self-promotion,” the source said.
The Aquaman star is also criticized for not donating the amount that she promised to charities that she’s a patron. Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez exposed the shocking truth during their interrogation.
“Amber made it a point to say she didn’t want Johnny’s money and made a show of donating it to charity. To hear she didn’t follow through on the pledge has done a lot to damage her credibility,” the source said.
It was revealed that a much smaller amount was donated to the charity under Heard’s name. But the money came from her rumored ex-boyfriend, Elon Musk.
Meanwhile, the tabloid spoke to an unknown defense attorney, who is not involved in Heard and Depp’s defamation trial. He said that this has done incredible self-inflicted damage to Heard’s reputation.
“I always advise my client to never deviate from the truth when giving testimony. Anytime a so-called victim embellishes facts or gets tripped up in a lie, it destroys their credibility completely. The backlash she’s receiving seems to be completely self-generated. These days, Amber couldn’t catch a cold in Hollywood,” the source said.
While it is true that the odds do not seem to favor Heard, it is important to note that the court hasn’t made a final decision yet on the defamation lawsuit.
But so far, things are not looking good for the actress especially after some of her alleged lies were busted by Vasquez.
Depp also continues to defend himself and some A-listers like Kate Moss have shown him her support.
