Pete Davidson has allegedly sold his soul to his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.
In its May 28 issue, Heat UK claimed that Kardashian and her entire family were the ones that encouraged Davidson to quit Saturday Night Live. After all, they believe that it would be more profitable for Davidson if he just appears in The Kardashians regularly.
“It’s like Pete’s been brainwashed. He started out in this relationship is much more independent – taking Kim out in New York and introducing her to the world. But that’s really changed, with Kim well and truly running his life. She persuaded him to uproot his life in New York to move closer to her place in Calabasas, California, and even suggested he quit his job on SNL,” the source said.
The insider claimed that Davidson must know that Kardashian is one of the savviest people in the entertainment industry so it’s important that he listens to her.
“Everyone around him is worried. His friends, colleagues, and even his mom have tried talking to him, but it’s like talking to a robot. They’ve all seen a shift in his personality since he’s been dating Kim, with Pete bragging more about material things, blowing off friends and family, and name-dropping about notable people he’s met through his girlfriend,” the source said.
Davidson is allegedly aware that his family and friends have some concerns. But he also thinks that this is the case because they’re jealous of him. After all, he has penetrated into the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and he’s also the girlfriend of one of the most famous people in Hollywood today.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.
Davidson decided to quit Saturday Night Live because this is what happens on shows like this one. According to Variety and Deadline, Davidson isn’t the only cast member that quit Saturday Night Live. Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney also quit the sketch show.
As such, Kardashian couldn’t have been the reason behind Davidson’s departure. In fact, the standup comedian said in his lengthy statement that he practically grew up on the show and he’s grateful for everything that he learned from his directors and co-stars.
But just like with everything in life, people move on to pursue greener pastures. And this is what Davidson could be doing.
