Prince William and Prince Charles allegedly “blocked” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from participating in the balcony appearance tradition. This is despite the official announcement stating that it is Queen Elizabeth II who decided the matter.
Express UK recently reported that the accusations came from an unnamed source who spoke to Star magazine. As noted, it was the Queen’s two direct heirs “who felt strongly” about limiting the balcony appearance only to working members of the family.
The Duke of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales were said to have been thinking that the Sussexes “have been ‘throwing shade’” at the British Royal Family. They reportedly feel that the former working royals “have caused nothing but chaos” since their exit.
The same insider continued that this has since been the case, especially after relocating to the United States. They have done so with their “endless tell-alls” and “interviews” subtly criticizing the rest of the British Royal Family.
In consideration of what has been happening, Prince Charles and Prince William allegedly think it would be “hypocritical” of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “acting all smiles and waving to the crowds” from the palace’s balcony as if they are all a “one big happy family.”
Following all the assertions, though, the source did not provide any proof to substantiate the claims. Hence, it remains unclear whether the allegations are legitimate.
What is true, however, is that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not make an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Colour.
Queen Elizabeth II, through an official announcement from the palace, confirmed the matter earlier this month. It noted that only British Royals “who are currently undertaking official public duties” will take part in the tradition.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry consequently confirmed their attendance to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations after the release of the announcement. A spokesperson for the pair also informed the public that they will return to the United Kingdom along with their two children.
Meanwhile, expert Camilla Tominey had different assertions regarding Prince Charles and Prince William in relation to the attendance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She shared in her own video series, titled “Royal Insight,” what would likely happen during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The expert claimed that the Prince of Wales is “sad,” while the Duke of Cambridge is both “angry and sad.” But, even so, she believes that they will put on their “brave faces,” as was the case during the funeral of Prince Philip last year, in the return of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
