Palace advisors reportedly always thought Prince Harry would leave the British Monarchy because he was "unhappy." This is one of the latest assertions from royal biographer Tina Brown, who just released her new book, “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor - the Truth and the Turmoil.”
Express UK reported that the expert made the claims during an engagement with the New York Times podcast, “Sway.” She believes there is likely a “Harry-shaped hole in the [British] Royal Family right now.”
Even so, Brown shared that advisors always thought the royal-born Prince would leave the royal Firm because “he was so fragile” and “so combustible.” She added that she was, also, told he was “so unhappy, frankly, in the constraints of the [British] Royal Family.”
The royal biographer continued that, despite the palace advisors always having the thoughts of Prince Harry leaving his position within the British Monarchy, his departure was a “disaster all round.” She, then, asserted that the Duke of Sussex was “beloved” by the British public, while the Duchess of Sussex was “adored” when she arrived “into the mix.”
The Sussex couple announced their exit earlier in January 2020. They officially left their posts a few weeks after and have since relocated to the United States.
The former working royals currently reside in Montecito, California. They moved into their new mansion with their first-born son, before welcoming their second child in 2021.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have already left their royal lives in the United Kingdom. But, the controversies, as well as the negative reception toward them, have continued to surround them in the new chapter of their lives outside the monarchy.
A separate report from Express UK, also, reveals that the former working royals have since become increasingly unpopular among the public, especially in the United Kingdom. Based on the latest YouGov data for the first quarter of 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex missed out on the top ten most popular royals in the country.
The royal-born Prince ranked 11 out of the 15 British Royals on the list. He received a positive rating of 32 percent, while his wife 24 percent, leaving her at the 14th place.
Meanwhile, ahead of the release of Tina Brown’s latest work, “The Palace Papers,” some excerpts from the material made the headlines. One of them is about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s alleged “mutual addiction to drama.”
The book, also, delves into other members of the British Royal Family, according to Page Six. Apart from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, there are claims from palace sources, as well, involving Prince Charles, Princess Diana, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
