A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport earlier on Wednesday. Reports said that Rihanna was with the artist at the time as they had just landed from their Barbados trip.

Page Six noted that the “Praise The Lord” rapper was taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, as per the Los Angeles Police Department. This is in connection to a shooting incident in November 2021.

The publication, also, stated that the department had assistance from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations Team. As added, the news first emerged from NBC News.

The Los Angeles Police Department has been investigating Rakim Mayers, or better known as A$AP Rocky. Authorities have identified him as the suspect in the shooting that took place last November 6.

Police reportedly shared that the incident stemmed from an argument between “two acquaintances,” adding that it escalated and resulted in the firing of a handgun at the victim. After the shooting, A$AP Rocky allegedly fled the scene on foot, alongside two other males.

The “Fashion Killa” artist, as well as his girlfriend, Rihanna, has yet to release any official statement about the matter. But, his attorney, Alan Jackson, confirmed the arrest, according to NBC News.

Reports said that A$AP Rocky was booked into jail at noon. As for the bail, it was said to be set at $550,000.

The artist posted bond, resulting in his release hours later. Based on the records, a court date has been set for August 17.
