Penguin Random House will not be “very happy” about the idea of Prince Harry toning down the content of his upcoming memoir. A military historian recently made the claims after suspecting the royal-born Prince of doing so.
Christopher Joll told LBC that the Duke of Sussex has “promised a kiss and tell memoir” to the publisher, according to Express UK. He, also, claimed that Random House paid him a “multi-million-pound” in advance for it.
But, with reports of a reconciliation between the Sussex couple and the rest of the British Royal Family, the expert believes that the youngest Wales prince might “tone down” his upcoming tell-all book. He consequently asserted that the former working royal cannot be a “commercial celebrity and a royal at the same time.”
The expert’s statements come after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a secret visit to Queen Elizabeth II on their way to the Invictus Games last week. BBC said that they stopped at Windsor before proceeding to The Hague, in the Netherlands, for the international sporting event.
A spokesperson for the Sussex couple confirmed the engagement before the public. Moreover, the Duke of Sussex, himself, talked about meeting with the British Monarch during a recent interview, wherein he described it as “great," and that they reportedly had a laugh or two during tea time.
Following the visit, several speculations and rumors have emerged, centering on the status of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's ties with the British Royal Family. There is even an allegation that the Queen invited the former working royals to join the rest of the family on the Buckingham Palace balcony at her Platinum Jubilee.
No further details have been shared, however, regarding the visit. When asked for comment, the Palace noted that it would not provide anything on such private matters.
Meanwhile, with regard to content of the upcoming memoir, several talks have since surfaced across media platforms. Many reportedly believe that Prince Harry will criticize some members of his family, especially Camilla Parker Bowles.
But, “Finding Freedom” co-author Omid Scobie previously stated that the Duke of Sussex will “go out of his way” to not criticize Queen Elizabeth II. He added that the royal-born Prince “really wants to celebrate [the Queen]’s life and his relationship with her in that book,” according to MailOnline.
The publication said that the memoir is due to be published later this year.
