Queen Elizabeth allegedly showed where her true allegiance lies while at Prince Philip’s memorial service.
In its April 18 issue, Us Weekly claimed that the queen couldn’t care less about what the public would think when she asked Prince Andrew to escort her to and from Westminster Abbey.
Even though Prince Charles and Prince William tried to talk the queen out of her decision, the monarch stood firm and decided to follow her gut.
“Charles thinks Andrew is a disgrace, and William and Kate aren’t fans either. Andrew has sworn on his life that he’s innocent and Elizabeth is taking his word for it. The queen will always love Andrew, and she was never going to wash her hands of him,” the source said.
However, the tabloid’s claims and what happened during Prince Philip’s memorial service couldn’t be more different from what the other publications predicted.
Before the somber event, there were predictions that the queen wouldn’t allow Prince Andrew to attend the memorial.
Prior to this, there were also claims that the queen wants nothing to do with Prince Andrew because he was a disgrace to the royal family.
In February, National Enquirer claimed that the queen gathered the courage to turn her back on the Duke of York. And she also refused to help her son pay for his settlement with his accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
“Andrew is on the ropes, and Her Majesty is refusing to bail him out. She’s furious at him for bringing shame and humiliation to the monarchy and will not bankroll his mega-bucks-out-of-court settlement. She’s already banned Andrew from royal life and stripped him of his military honors, royal patronages, taxpayer-funded salary, and the use of the His Royal Highness title, but she’s not finished yet. I’m told that within weeks, Andrew will be kicked out of his grace and favor home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he lives with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson,” the source said.
However, the queen’s recent outing with Prince Andrew proved that this isn’t the case. While it’s unclear if Her Majesty helped pay for her son’s settlement, the queen has always stayed loyal to Prince Andrew.
While he was battling Giuffre in court, the queen never released a statement about the sexual abuse lawsuit. And she was never photographed with the Duke of York either.
But the minute that the lawsuit was resolved, she immediately reunited with Prince Andrew in public.
