Kate Middleton and Prince William always ensure to follow royal traditions and protocols. But, the recent turnout of events has caused some experts to believe that they are putting an end to one of these rules.
Cheat Sheet said this centers on the well-known royal mantra: “never complain, never explain.” This comes after the Cambridge couple, especially the royal-born Prince, shockingly addressed some public concerns in a statement.
Expert Pauline Maclaran explained that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge likely recognized the “need to change because it is such a public relations game these days.” She, also, noted that “now, it is all down to how you brand yourself,” per Express UK.
Maclaran, then, shared that the “public does expect to see the sort of human touch behind the facade.” Moreover, the rest likely “demands more and more [of the] explanation.”
She, later on, concluded that Prince William and Kate Middleton appear to be “willing to give more” of themselves “in that respect.” She asserted, as well, that “it is the right move.”
The conclusions and speculations come after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the former, in particular, released an official statement at the end of their royal tour of the Caribbean. Reports have since deemed it an “unusual” and “unprecedented” announcement as it seemingly tackles some of the issues and controversies they had faced amid the week-long trip.
Prince William shared that he and Kate Middleton are “committed to service,” which, for them, is not about “telling people what to do.” He explained that “it is about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best” by using their platform, which they are “lucky to have” today, according to Marie Claire.
The royal-born Prince, then, concluded that what is on his mind is not “who the Commonwealth countries choose to lead in the future.” He pointed out that “what matters to [them] is the potential the Commonwealth family has to create a better future for the people who form it,” as well as their “commitment to serve and support.”
A separate report from Express UK, also, claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton laid out a “blueprint” for the royal-born Prince’s kingship. These reportedly include the incorporation of “bold changes” into the British Monarchy, such as “ending the ‘never complain, never explain’ mantra of the British Royal Family.”
However, some experts and commentators believe that this may have “irritated” Prince Charles. As asserted, the move has seemingly “forgotten” that the Duke of Cambridge is not the next King of the United Kingdom.
