Prince Andrew is reportedly gearing up to make more appearances with Queen Elizabeth II at future royal events. As claimed, he will escort his mother to the upcoming Epsom race meet in June.
A source explained that the Duke of York was intended to “stay invisible” at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, according to Express UK. However, the British Monarch is said to require a “chaperone on all occasions at the moment due to her mobility issues.”
The same insider noted that the former working royal has “earmarked the Derby,” where he will accompany the Queen. As added, he does not “seem to understand the public outcry” following his appearance and role at the Service of Thanksgiving.
Another source, then, told the same publication that the Queen’s second son wants to “participate in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.” He intends to be “present” at the service to pay tribute to his mother’s “magnificent 70 years of reign.”
Confirmations about the matter have yet to emerge. The informant did not provide any evidence to prove the allegations, claiming that Prince Andrew would have further participation in upcoming events, like the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Hence, the latest story is speculative at best. Unless otherwise stated, it will remain as such or until an official announcement from the Palace arrives.
Meanwhile, The Mirror previously reported that Prince Charles and Prince William “totally oppose” Prince Andrew returning to public duties, according to The International News. A royal expert explained that the two direct heirs of Queen Elizabeth II would not allow it to happen.
Speaking to the publication, Richard Fitzwilliams asserted that the public would not likely see the Duke of York in future royal events. He stated that the former working royal “won’t play any kind of a role” in the Platinum Jubilee, adding that the public “can be quite sure” of it because of the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge.
But, be that as it may, there are ongoing allegations about Queen Elizabeth II overruling Prince Charles and Prince William’s decision, allowing Prince Andrew to escort her at the Service of Thanksgiving for the late Prince Philip. It was a “shocking move,” considering the controversies surrounding the former working royal, involving Virginia Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein, according to Cosmopolitan.
As claimed, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge previously raised concerns “on more than one occasion” about the Duke of York’s participation and role at the March 29 service. They were reportedly “absolutely united” on their stance that it was “simply unnecessary” for the latter to escort the British Monarch.
However, the Queen allegedly noted that it was “her wish and final decision” for her second son to chaperone her at the event. This, then, was said to have left her two direct heirs “dismayed” and “shocked.”
