Cole Sprouse is ready to move on and grow again.
Cheat Sheet reported that the actor recently shared some of his thoughts about “Riverdale.” While he is grateful for the series, which is currently on its sixth season course on The CW, he stated that he and his co-stars are ready to “wrap it up with a bow.”
As noted, Sprouse made the revelation in a recent interview with GQ. He shared several details about his life, including his work and role for “Riverdale.”
The 29-year-old celebrity noted that he is not a “creative force” behind the series, adding that he has “no creative control.” He consequently stated that, at one point, he was asked to direct an episode but declined to do so.
As explained, he knew his vision would be “immediately sucked into the network’s needs.”
Cole Sprouse’s statements seemingly echoed co-star AJ Kapa’s thoughts earlier in 2021. He told E! News that he felt like he is “in jail a lot of the time” when talking about “Riverdale,” according to a separate report from Cheat Sheet.
The actor, who plays the role of Archie on the CW series, also, revealed that he felt “so free” when doing his then-upcoming film, “Songbird.” He stated that “there are so many restrictions on what [he] can and can’t do.”
Kapa continued that, when working on the 2021 film, he realized that it was what it was like to “express [himself] in a natural way.” He added he was not “covered in makeup or hair products” as he had “long hair and a beard” before pointing out that he “just felt free.”
Cole Sprouse’s interview comes after The CW renewed “Riverdale” for the seventh season. No confirmations have yet to surface on whether it will already serve as the finale of the show.
Currently, the series has just returned from its three-month hiatus. It aired last November and has since dropped seven episodes.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cole Sprouse, also, touched on his previous relationship with co-star Lili Reinhart. He clarified that while the romance had “all this public currency,” what they shared was “as real as it gets.”
The actor spoke of the breakup, as well, with the publication describing the split as “messy.” As stated, he found himself on the receiving end of online hate, adding that some fans even reported him to brands he was working with.
Reinhart and Sprouse have always maintained their privacy. Reports claimed, though, that their relationship began in 2017 and ended up splitting earlier in 2020.
