Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s parents are being pitted against each other.
In its March 21 issue, New Idea claimed that Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton was jealous of the public attention that Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland received when she attended the NAACP.
A source claimed that Carole has always been hailed as the perfect mother and mother-in-law, so she wasn’t thrilled with Ragland receiving the same monikers.
“Carole fought long and hard to have her middle-class family truly accepted by the royals, and she was the victim of some terrible snobbery from some of the family’s blue-blooded hangers-on. She’s not a bad person or anything, but it has been a little galling for her to see everyone falling all over themselves for Doria,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that Carole was desperate to take back the spotlight from Ragland that’s why she announced her new ocean-themed range for her business, Party Pieces.
She also sat down for an interview with Sheer Luxe magazine about her career and her family. The source claimed that the timing of Carole’s new range and the interview seemed suspicious.
“Carole is nothing if not enterprising and gave a cheeky little interview and released a new party range, which ensured she was back in the headlines as the cool royal mother-in-law and granny. She would never admit it was on purpose, but the timing is suspicious,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.
It’s obvious that the tabloid is just pitting Middleton and Markle’s moms against each other even when there’s no indication that they are feuding.
Carole and Ragland are not the best of friends, and they may have only met a few times during Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding. But there’s no indication that they are trying to compete with each other.
Middleton’s mom never said that she wants to know as the best royal mom or royal mother-in-law. And she didn’t launch her new Party Pieces range to get the public’s attention away from Ragland.
If there’s an ongoing competition and feud between the two, Carole and Ragland would most likely be making more public appearances to beat each other out. But since this hasn’t happened, it’s obvious that the tabloid’s claims aren’t accurate in the first place.
