Kim Kardashian is facing waves of backlash after giving “advice” to women in business during an interview with Variety. The public, alongside personalities from various industries, has called her out, deeming her “out of touch” and “privileged.”
OK! magazine said that one of the critics is Sunny Hostin of “The View.” As noted, the reality star’s statements did not land well with the talk show personality.
She told her audience that “people who are born on third base should not be talking about how easy it is to hit a home run.” She, also, pointed out that Kardashian “clearly had the upper hand in life,” leading her to her success.
Hostin continued that “it helps to be born rich also, like [Kim Kardashian] was,” adding that the reality star is “pretty,” who had a wealthy father, and a mother who was a business manager.
The legal analyst, then, asserted that the “advice” from the SKIMS founder came off as “being very privileged” and “very elitist.”
She, later on, recalled how she “worked twice as hard to get half as far as a lot of people.” She looked back at her life growing up “poor in the South Bronx,” and worked her way up to have a successful career.
Jameela Jamil, who is an “outspoken actress,” slammed Kim Kardashian, as well, after learning the “advice” in question. Page Six said she “ripped” the reality star on social media, in particular.
On Twitter, “The Good Place” actress noted that “nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic” if you grew up with successful parents and in Beverly Hills. She added that “99.9 percent of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours,” after saying that the “same 24 hours in the day s--t is a nightmare.”
Jamil continued her criticisms toward the KKW Beauty founder, along with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner household, on Instagram. She insisted that the family “should not be asked about their secret to success,” and they “should not answer those questions.”
The controversies began after Kim Kardashian claimed that she had the “best advice for women in business.” She said, “get you f***ing a** up and work,” adding that “it seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
The 41-year-old celebrity went on to state that “you have to surround yourself with people that wanna work.” Moreover, “have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do… No toxic work environments.”
Following the apparent backlash, Kardashian remains silent about the matter. She has yet to clarify her statements or address the criticisms toward her.
