Prince Andrew and Prince Charles are allegedly involved in two different money laundering scandals.
In its March 14 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Prince Andrew’s 2007 sale of Sunninghill Park for $20 million is being questioned.
At the time, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson sold the five-acre estate to Kazakh tycoon Timur Kulibayev. The latter reportedly paid the couple $4 million more than his asking price.
Prince Andrew has not been charged with anything. And there’s no proof that his deal with the tycoon was illegal, but the fact that there’s an investigation going on means that he could be in danger.
“This embarrassing case brings more disgrace to an already tattered monarchy, and his family is beyond fed up with him. There are reasonable grounds to suspect that the buyer has engaged in transactions to embezzle several hundred million dollars from the sale of Kazakh-state-owned assets and launder the proceeds through Europe-based bank accounts and property purchases, including Sunninghill Park,” the source said.
The source added that it’s possible for Prince Andrew to not have any idea about the money laundering scheme. But he was still wrong for trusting the Kazakh tycoon and entering into a deal with him.
“It’s another example of his recklessness and stupidity,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles is also under investigation with regards to the bribe scandal involving his former palace staff, Michael Fawcett and Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz.
Prince Charles also denied any knowledge of the cash for title scandal. But royal critics said that he must have known about it because he’s Fawcett’s boss.
However, this doesn’t prove that Prince Charles was involved in the scandal. And it’s entirely possible that he really didn’t have any knowledge of the matter.
In the same manner, Prince Andrew wouldn’t have stopped himself from making a deal with the Kazakh tycoon if he didn’t really have any idea about the latter’s possible money laundering scheme.
By the looks of it, the tabloid is just attacking the members of the royal family, which is something that they have been doing for years.
Prince Charles and Prince Andrew are busy with more important things like Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
Prince Charles just recovered from COVID-19, and Prince Andrew just reached a settlement with his accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre after years of fighting.
